Purpose
To bring together people interested in music for informal
musicales presented by its members or other musical performers; to
encourage various musical pursuits throughout the greater
Williamsburg community; to establish and maintain a Grants-in-Aid
fund providing annual distribution of awards to deserving young
musicians in the region; and to make other meaningful contributions
to local musical activities. Where and When We Meet
The WMC meets on the third Wednesday of the month from September
- May in Lewis Hall of Bruton Parish Church. There is a social hour
at 10:00 a.m. and a short business meeting at 10:30 a.m. A recital
by professional musicians and\or student grant audition winners
follows from 11:00 - 12:00 noon. Meetings are free and open to the
public. History
The Wednesday Morning Music Club was established in 1964 by 37
charter members who resided in Williamsburg and were involved in
music either as a profession or as an avocation. In 1985 the club
was granted tax-exempt status under Section 501(c)(3) of the
Internal Revenue Code. Click here to
