The Williamsburg Music Club takes this opportunity to notify
exceptionally talented young area musicians of a memorial
scholarship, established at Interlochen, by the late Claire McElheny
of Williamsburg to fulfill the wishes of his wife, Anne. Mrs.
McElheny, a charter member of the Wednesday Morning Music Club, had
received a music scholarship in her early years and it was something
she had long appreciated.
The McElheny Memorial Endowment Fund, administered by Interlochen,
provides these scholarships in perpetuity to support talented area
music students who meet Interlochen's requirements for scholarship
awards.
Candidates for the summer camp scholarship are selected from the
City of Williamsburg, James City County and York County areas of
Virginia. The three
priorities for consideration are:
1) musical aptitude
2) academic proficiency
3) financial need.
Students should apply directly to Interlochen. Early completion
of the application process is recommended for the best chance of
enrollment. For full details, go to
