Established in 2004 by Kathy Exton, with an initial gift of $5,000,
this Fund will remain in perpetuity for the Williamsburg Music Club
to draw upon annually to support its grants to young musicians at
such time as the Board deems appropriate. (Suggestion: a minimum of
$10,000 in the corpus.) At that time, the Board shall decide what
annual percentage may be drawn down to allow the corpus to remain
intact.
Announced at the Club’s 40th Anniversary luncheon, it was Exton’s
wish to celebrate the significant impact the Music Club has had on
her life and to honor its founding members, to include Exton’s
life-long Music Club partner in music, Mary T. Gonzales.
It is hoped that the new Endowment Fund will provide both a
destination for future gifts to include all memorial gifts assigned
to the Williamsburg Music Club. It is also hoped that the
establishment of this Fund will encourage others to help grow the
Fund in order that future generations of young musicians in the area
will be supported with greater funding to assist in their music
education.
Contributions to this Fund are fully tax deductible under Section
501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
Members, friends and interested parties are encouraged to make
contributions by writing checks payable to the Club with the
notation Endowment Fund and mailing it to:
